Nature of the Opportunity

Compartimental lung challenges with allergen make the Allergenix sheep model particularly suitable for drug target discovery using genomic and proteomic technologies. Tissue collected from a challenged lobe and from a control lobe of the same animal can be effectively compared without interference from differences in the genetic background of the collected samples. At present Allergenix is seeking a suitable partner with expertise in drug discovery to apply genomic and protemic technologies to the identification of novel drug targets in asthma and airway remodeling.
